After several steps in the process four direct excitation screening machines are used to separate the 0–20 mm fraction by type. These specially designed machines for the production chain use the inclination and vibration of the screen cloth for material transport. Each of the four RHEWUM ® machines screens 8.5 t/h of organic material. An automatic brush cleans the screening surface every ten minutes to prevent clogging.
Afterwards the material is fermented, methanized and composted. There is no need for reprocessing, as the standard compliant purity is achieved. The compost produced replaces chemical fertilizers in agriculture, while the biogas contributes to electricity and heat production.
