Production of Fractions Containing Screenings for Naturally Moist Sands
A manufacturer of grains for well-known producers of finished plaster asked RHEWUM® to classify 80 t/h of crushed dolomite flour into fractions of 10 mm, 3.5 mm, 2.25 mm, 1.6 mm and 1.0 mm. The feed moisture and clay content made screening difficult

While tests showed that a linear vibrating screen immediately blocked the screen mesh, a combination of linear vibrating screen and linear vibrating screen was chosen. Therefore, it was decided to use a combination of screening technologies: 10.0 mm separation is done with vibrating bar screens in the feed area. Separations at 3.5 mm and 2.25 mm were implemented using a directly excited screen with an unbalanced motor, a simple alternative to the electromagnet. Critical separations at 1.6 mm and 1.0 mm are achieved by electromagnet drive. An additional screen mesh heater (max. 30 kW) heats the mesh to over 100°C and prevents caking.
