RADCERTS OFFERS RADIATION SAFETY TRAINING ONLINE
VANCOUVER, WA, FEB — RadCerts is excited to bring radiation safety training to an online platform. The new multilingual courses allow management to train x-ray operators independently. General courses are available to fit most requirements as well as State-specific courses for those with special requirements.
Processors have traditionally flown out x-ray technicians to complete this government-required training. “This has required producers to pull everyone off the line at once for training that only half the staff can absorb due to language barriers or delivery issues,” says John Cassa, investor, “and when there’s turnover they either have to do it again or be out of compliance.” This has resulted in a large portion of the industry being perpetually out of compliance.
Companies using x-ray can now buy blocks of seats and have operators take courses as needed, which take between 25–40 minutes to complete. According to the product developer, John Hilgendorf, the real cost of untrained personnel lies in misconceptions around x-ray — “Requirements for warning signs and restricted areas invoke a level of fear that isn’t warranted with these machines. And when you have trainers that don’t understand this or want to inflate their value it creates concern that is worse than the x-ray exposure itself.”

RadCerts’ courses center around what radiation is, how x-ray fits with it, and the practical bits like “don’t stick your hand in a running machine”. Seats cost $115 apiece with bulk pricing available.

RadCerts was founded in 2022 to allow processors a way to satisfy government requirements which were impractical, especially during lockdowns. They are currently the only provider of online RAD training for the US food processing sector. Those who wish to learn more or request a separate State should visit RadCerts.com or email Support@RadCerts.com.
