The Scott Equipment Air Swept Tubular Dryer (AST) is a robust industrial flash drying system engineered for versatility and durability in the industrial minerals and chemical processing sectors. Its patented drying technology employs high-velocity adjustable paddles and air dams to optimize heat transfer between the air and bulk solids. The cylindrical drying chamber allows hot air to flow through, efficiently carrying and drying material as it moves through the system.
Even slurries with a dry solid content as low as 5% can be dried in a single pass to achieve up to 99% dry solids. The AST Dryer’s agitation system ensures thorough mixing of the hot gas with incoming wet material, reducing drying time and breaking up clumps. A wide range of materials—including filter cakes, thixotropic and dilatant slurries, powders, and granules—can be effectively dried using the AST Drying System.
