Our butterfly valves
are designed for controlling the discharge of free-flowing, bulk powder
products. This unit’s core consists of a 6” diameter, double quick disconnect
valve body, manufactured from 316L S.S. with an internal finish of 15 μin Ra, and an external finish of 39 μin Ra (max).
1.5” flanged retainer necks are clamped using the quick disconnect clamp
assembly on both the inlet and outlet of the valve. This design allows for the
unit to be easily adapted to the required upstream and downstream process
equipment that is needed for any given application. Whether the flanged necks
are installed to equipment on either end via tri-clamp, bolts, adapter plates,
or even weldments, the valve body remains easily removable by simply unscrewing
the toggle grip and removing the eye bolt on the clamps! A uniform, white, soft
silicone (55 DUR Shore A) valve gasket lines the center of the cylindrical
valve body, and protrudes 1/8” toward
the center to act as a seal with the main valve disc. The valve disc, also
manufactured from 316L S.S, and finished to 15 μin Ra, is designed to rotate in
either direction in the center of the valve body, sealing when in line with the
silicone gasket layer and preventing the flow of any product.
Options:
Manual Actuation - A 9 ¼” valve handle is angled 30° from the side
of the valve body, and has a 1” diameter ball end to provide easy gripping and
orientation for operators to open and close the valve
Pneumatic Actuation - A
2.5” diameter, piston cylinder valve actuator is bolted to the clamp assembly
and allows the operator to actuate the valves pneumatically. Air service is
provided via the 1/8" NPT fitting for the 5/32” pneumatic tubing. 10 SCFM
@ 90 PSIG clean, dry air is required to power the actuator.
